  1. What time is check-in and check-out at The Mitre Hotel?

    The check-in time for The Mitre is from 4pm and check-out time is 11 am. Early check ins and late checkouts may be available subject to an additional charge.

    On check-in we will pre-authorise a card to the value of £50 for a single night stay and £100 for multiple nights.

    On your day of departure please vacate your room on time and settle your extras account at reception.

  2. Is there a car park on-site at The Mitre Hotel?

    The Mitre does have free parking on site for hotel guest but it is limited and non-reservable. The parking spaces runs on a first come first served basis. Alternatively, there is paid parking spaces available one minute walk from The Mitre at the Hampton Court train station (£7.50 charge for overnight stay) which is just a 5-minute walk across the bridge from the hotel. There is also a large public car park a 7-minute walk away at the Greens car park (charges apply).

  3. Does The Mitre Hotel have electric car charging points?

    Yes, The Mitre has two electric car charging points. These are available on a first-come-first-served basis at £10 per charge which will be added to your bill.

  4. Is there a dress code at The Mitre hotel or restaurant?

    The Mitre does not have a strict dress code and is informal in style. When dining in our 1665 Riverside Brasserie, many guests choose to dress up a bit. Both our bar and cafe are casual.

  5. How far is The Mitre Hotel from Hampton Court Palace?

    The mitre is just a 1-minute walk away from Hampton Court Palace. Our hotel is right opposite the main entrance to the palace.

  6. Can I buy Hampton Court Palace tickets at The Mitre Hotel?

    Tickets can be purchased at reception for £15pp. Alternatively please contact the palace directly.

  7. Does The Mitre Hotel accept dogs?

    Well behaved dogs are welcomed at The Mitre.

    • We have 8 dog-friendly rooms on ground level with access to the courtyard. Dog-friendly rooms are available within the following categories: Heritage, Royal, Culture and Family rooms.
    • There is a £30 per night charge per dog
    • A maximum of 2 dogs per room
    • We provide a dog welcome pack on arrival
    • No dogs can be left in the room unattended
    • You can dine with your dog in the Coppernose cafe, Boathouse, Orangery and Terraces. We do not allow dogs in 1665 Brasserie.
    • Great walks for you and your dog from the front door of the hotel include the river path and Bushy Park.
  8. Does The Mitre Hotel offer boat hire on the River Thames?

    Yes, The Mitre can arrange the hire of several private launches that we work with on a bespoke basis. Please contact us for more information or to arrange your boat experience.

    Alternatively, if you just want to enjoy a couple of gentle hours meandering down the River Thames in a rowboat we can recommend you rent one opposite The Mitre Hotel.

  9. Can we moor a boat at The Mitre Hotel?

    Unfortunately, guests cannot moor a boat at The Mitre as the deck is used exclusively by our boats. If you have a booking with The Mitre, you can certainly be dropped off or picked up, but no mooring over 5 minutes is allowed.

  10. Can I get married at The Mitre Hotel?

    Yes, The Mitre would be delighted to host your wedding ceremony and reception. Our hotel can accommodate 70 sit-down guests for the wedding breakfast and reception in the Orangery and a further 50 guests can you in the evening. We also offer the option to take the hotel over exclusively.

    The Mitre Hotel is conveniently located just 6 miles from London Heathrow airport by car. You can also take the 111 bus.

    Gatwick airport is located 35 minutes away from The Mitre Hotel by car. Alternatively, you can take a train from the airport station to Clapham Junction and change to the Hampton Court train.

    To get from London City airport to The Mitre Hotel take the docklands light railway to Canning Town and then the Jubilee line to Waterloo. Catch the Hampton Court train from there.

    Yes, children are allowed at The Mitre Hotel. We have three family rooms, which have bunk beds and can comfortably sleep a family of up to 4 guests. All children (a person under 16 years of age) staying at the hotel must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.

    Yes, The Mitre Hotel caters to most special diets. We offer a vegan and vegetarian menu in both of our restaurants. For certain dietary requirements, we require a minimum of 24 hours' notice.
